Happy New Year! A new year means a new month, which means a new mini legacy challenge. I have to credit one of my moderators over at my Twitch channel, who also happens to be one of my good friends. This month’s mini legacy challenge was her idea, I simply fleshed it out. So, ShannonFromTheBadPlace, this one is dedicated to you. Adoption is arguably one of the most under utilized features in generational based challenges, so we’re going to utilize the HECK out of it with the Forever Family Mini Legacy Challenge. If your interest has been piqued, read on to learn more.
Getting Started
CAS: Create a YA Sim in CAS of any gender. Give them the following traits: Family Oriented, Genius, Bookworm. There is a perfect custom aspiration for this generation. It’s called Part Time Parent and can be found here. If you prefer not to use CC, then choose the Academic aspiration.
Mods/CC: Mods (that don’t give you an advantage) and CC are fine. Mini Legacy challenges are all about exploring the game in a way that you find enjoyable. One of my favorite modders, LilMsSam, even has a foster family mod that may enhance the adoption experience that this challenge centers around.
Adoption: Every child in this challenge must be adopted. You may adopt as many or as few children as you like each generation.
DLC: This is not a limited packs challenge. This challenge requires: Parenthood, Island Living, Discover University, Cats and Dogs. Other packs are used for single goals and those goals can simply be eliminated if you don’t have that particular pack.
Parenting Skill: Each generation must have at least a level 5 Parenting skill, with the exception of Generation 5.
You’ve always had your life planned. You worked hard in high school, so you could get into a good college. You’d earn a degree, get a good paying job, and then settle down and start a family. That all changed when you heard about a little Sim in need of a forever family. You took them into your home and into your heart no questions asked. How will you balance University and being a parent so young?
Aspiration: Academic OR Part Time Parent Traits: Family Oriented, Genius, Bookworm Career: Education (either branch) Goals: 1. Complete Aspiration. 2. Reach Top of Career. 3. Earn a degree. 4. Adopt a child/children during first semester of University. 5. Max Research and Debate skill and another skill of your choice, reach level 5 Parenting skill. 6. Have a child will all possible positive character value traits. 7. Have a child complete the Whiz Kid aspiration. 8. Marriage is optional for this generation.
Your parent sacrificed their fun party years to take care of you and you’ve always admired them for that. Their desire to take care of you sparked your desire to take care of the planet, so that it’s beautiful and healthy for generations to come. You raise your own children in a way that encourages them to decrease their carbon footprint, while allowing them to enjoy childhood away from electronics and unnecessary material things. You hope that encouraging your children to explore and learn on their own leads to them becoming extremely successful adults.
Aspiration: Successful Lineage Traits: Family Oriented, Good, Child of the Islands Career: Conservationist (either branch) Goals: 1. Complete aspiration. 2. Reach top of career. 3. Max Wellness and Gardening skills, reach level 5 Parenting skill 4. Live off the grid in Sulani. 5. Complete the frog collection with your child. 6. Have a toddler with the Top Notch Toddler trait. 7. Have a child complete the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration. 8. Marriage is optional.
Your parent stressed the importance of being successful and leaving the world a little bit better than you found it. You grew up running around barefoot and exploring the world around you. You always knew that you wanted to be a parent, but never had much interest in romantic relationships. It only made sense for you to adoption like your parent did. You even took a job working from home, so that you can be there to take care of your child/children. You strive to be the best at your career and being a parent.
Aspirations: Super Parent Traits: Family Oriented, Perfectionist, Ambitious Career: Freelancer (any branch) Goals: 1. Complete Aspiration. 2. Work in Freelancer career. 3. Max the skill associated with your career and the Parenting skill. 4. Never Marry or date. 5. Have at least one gold medal toddler play date. 6. Have a child that has earned all scouting badges. 7. Have a child complete the Artistic Prodigy aspiration.
Your parent worked so hard to raise you and your siblings all by themselves. You were always a romantic and dreamed of finding a life partner who would adopt lots of little Sims with you. Someone to raise your children with and someone to grow old with. You found that in your first love. They have a wonderful job that allows you to stay home and take care of your children.
Aspirations: Soulmate, Big Happy Family Traits: Family Oriented, Neat, Romantic Career: Stay at Home Parent Goals: 1. Complete Aspirations. 2. Marry first love. 3. Max Cooking skill and any instrument skill, reach level 5 Parenting skill. 4. Have weekly family movie nights. 5. Have your child start a Kids Club and host weekly gatherings at your house. 6. Have your child complete the Voidcritter collection. 7. Have your child complete the Social Butterfly aspiration. 8. Have your child earn the Compassionate (positive empathy) trait.
Your parent took wonderful care of you and always encouraged your interests. They were so proud when you opened your very own pet clinic and even supported you when you told them that you only wanted to have furry children in lieu of Sim children. They always told you that they just wanted to be happy and they meant it.
Aspirations: Friend of the Animals Traits: Family Oriented, Dog OR Cat Lover, Loner Career: Vet Clinic Owner Goals: 1. Complete Aspiration. 2. Max Veterinarian and Pet Training Skills. 3. Don’t have any children. 4. Never own less than two pets at any given time. 5. Complete feathers collection. 6. Have all three pet types (cats, dogs, and small pets). 7. Marriage is optional. 8. Own a 5 Star Vet Clinic.
I hope you enjoy this month’s Mini Legacy Challenge. I’m beyond grateful to Shannon for all of her help with this month’s challenge. It’s quite possibly my favorite so far. I can’t wait to see all of your pictures and stories based around the Forever Family Mini Legacy Challenge. I hope you enjoy exploring the adoption system in The Sims 4 as well as some family game play. Whether or not you’re a family player, I think this challenge sheds some light on different unused aspects of the game. As always, I would love to see your pictures and videos, so please upload with #CLSForeverFamily to social media so I can enjoy. Have a wonderful January, friends!
The Everything Legacy was accidentally born on stream. We tried so many different challenges that we later abandoned so that we could explore different features or new DLC that had been released. We needed something different. Something that allowed us more freedom to move seamlessly into new or different content, but still had the same structure as a challenge. We started the OG Legacy Challenge, which ultimately inspired us to create our own challenge: The Everything Legacy. The general premise of this challenge is to do everything the game has to offer in as many generations as it takes. This isn’t a speed challenge, there’s no points or “winning”. Just take your time and enjoy everything The Sims 4 has to offer!
CAS 1. Start a new save file.
2. Create a Young Adult (YA) Sim. You must use the personality quiz feature to create your sim.
3. Your sim can look any way you’d like, be any gender, and can be any occult type (vampire, mermaid, etc) that you want.
Moving In 1. This is where the Everything Legacy starts to differ from the traditional or other legacy challenges. You may choose any empty lot that you want.
2. Build yourself a small starter house (it doesn’t have to pretty. Function > form)
3. Your legacy family is NOT required to live here for the entirety of the challenge. You may move to different lots or worlds as wish. It’s actually encouraged to do so as you explore the different areas of the game and packs.
Objective
The objective of the Everything Legacy is in the name! Complete everything the game has to offer in as few or as many generations that you’d like. This most likely will not be a ten generation legacy challenge. Scroll down for a list of all the things you’ll need to complete in this challenge. This challenge is written for all EPs, GPs, and SPs, but you can tailor it to whichever packs you have.
Cheats
With a few exceptions, cheats are not allowed. (Come on, it’s a challenge, folks). The exceptions are as follows:
-Resetsim: If your sims get stuck, feel free to use the resetsim cheat to unstick them. -Any cheats that you would need for the Challenge Mode if you choose to try it out. (See Challenge Mode section below)
Mods/CC
There are so many mods that it would be impossible to make an exhaustive list of which ones are and aren’t permitted. Mods that enhance gameplay like Slice of Life (KawaiiStacie) are okay. Mods that act like cheats such as UI Cheats Extensions (weerbesu) are not allowed. Use your common sense here, friends.
Traits/Aspirations
When children are born into your legacy, you must use the trait randomizer to pick their traits. Pick a random aspiration as well.

There are no succession rules like there are in other legacy challenges. Your heirs can be any gender, birth order, occult type, adopted/born, etc.

Challenge mode is an optional way to increase the difficulty of the challenge, if that’s your thing. You can choose one, a few, or all of the options below to spice up your Everything Legacy!
1. Financial Troubles: Your family has a tough time saving up and hanging on to their fortune. Every few generations, it just seems like your sims are starting over from scratch! Every fourth generation, use the “money” cheat to set your family funds to 1,000 Simoleons. The cheat would be “money 1000” (without the quotations)
2. Old School: Your family is old school. Like REALLY old school. Only male sims born into the family are allowed to be heirs. Your heir must be a male sim and cannot be adopted. Your couple must keep having babies until you have at least one boy.
3. Supernatural Fans: Human Sims are so last year. Your family can’t get enough of aliens, vampires, and mermaids. Only supernatural Sims can be heirs/heiresses. You may marry a human Sim, but remember: if you have a baby with a human Sim, you only have a 50% chance of having a supernatural Sim. Extra brownie points for getting the infamous hybrid!
4. Roll the Dice: Something weird is going on. It’s almost like random events occur every generation and no one in your family seems to have any control over them. At the start of every generation, roll the dice to see which event will effect this generation. No re-rolling! If you roll a: 1. A fire destroys your entire house. You only make it out withthree cherished items. Bulldoze and rebuild your entire lot, you may only keep three items from the lot. 2. There’s been a heist! Your entire family fortune has been stolen and you’re left with zero Simoleons in the bank. Open up the cheat console and enter “money 0” to set your family funds back to zero. Oof. 3. Forever Alone is your motto. Your way of life. You feel like you’re the victim of some sort of curse. You never marry or find true love. Your Sim must remain single for their entire life. No boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse. All children will be born from random townies that your Sim will never see again. 4. Babies are kind of your thing. You’ve been dreaming about having a large family since you were a teeny tiny Sim Child. What’s the point of Woohoo if it’s not Try for Baby? This Sim can’t Woohoo; they must only Try for Baby. They must have at least 4 children, but can have more if you wish. 5. They say “life is short”, but for your Sim, life is VERY short. Your Sim will die in a “mysterious” accident at the end of the Young Adult stage. Make sure to get a few kiddos in early to carry on the family name! 6. You’ve built such a nice home for yourself and your family. Why would you leave ever leave? Your Sim enjoys the coziness of being in their home. You Sim cannot leave their home lot. At all. Perhaps this would be a good time to try out one of the Freelancer careers?
With all of that said, this is supposed to be FUN. If it gets overwhelming or dull, change it up! Make it your own and enjoy this challenge. It was a ton of fun testing it out on stream and ironing out the details and I can’t wait to officially attempt it with all of the rules in place. If you attempt this challenge, I want to see pictures and stories on social media. Just use #EverythingLegacy. As always, come check out our playthrough of the challenge over on Twitch at twitch.tv/CatLadySimmer. I hope you love this challenge as much as I do and can’t wait to see what ya’ll do with it!

Hey friends! Things have been super crazy lately and I took a break from creating Mini Legacy Challenges. I still feel as though we have plenty of those for the time being, but I wanted to share a new legacy challenge with all of you. As many of you know, I like some flexibility and choices in my legacy challenges and this new one is no different. In this new challenge, each generation is based around a different aspiration. I know what you’re thinking; there’s like 44 aspirations in game. Have no fear, this is NOT a 44 generation legacy challenge. It’s as long – or as short – as you want it to be! Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of it down below.
General Rules There are 75 million legacy challenges out there. All of them have slightly different sets of basic rules. If challenges have too many rules, my eyes start to glaze over. Find a legacy challenge with general rules that you like or make up your own. It’s a game, folks.
Starting Out
As stated above, each generation is based on a different aspiration, which will ultimately be the aspiration your sim completes. You can create a sim of any gender with any appearance that you’d like. Your sim should be a young adult. You can move them into any world you wish.
Determining Which Aspiration Each Generation is Based On
You have three options to pick from when deciding how you will determine which aspiration each generation is based on:
1. Random Number Generator 2. Let Your Community Vote 3. Just Pick Your Favorite
Whichever option you pick will be how you determine each generation for the entirety of the challenge, so choose wisely!
How Long is This Challenge Anyway?
Excellent question! You have three length options to pick from:
1. The Aspiration Mini Legacy: This is a short and sweet five generation challenge. 2. The Aspiration Legacy: This is your run of the mill ten generation challenge. 3. The Aspiration Super Legacy: If you’re a glutton for punishment, this consists of completing all 44 aspirations currently available in game.
Each generation will consist of the one required trait (the rest are up to you), one skill to max, one career to max, and one lifestyle goal. Some generations may give you the choice between two traits or two skills; this is simply to allow you to make the challenge your own.

I’m so excited to see what you guys will do with this challenge and can’t wait to see the awesome families and stories you’ll create. Please post them on social media using #AspirationLegacy so I can see all of your amazing creations. Thanks for checking out my challenge and I look forward to seeing what you all do.
Happy February friends! I hope everyone is getting fully adjusted to 2020. This month has been incredibly busy for me, so I passed the Mini Legacy Challenge torch over to my Twitch moderator and my good friend, ShannonFromTheBadPlace. So, I’m just posting this on her behalf. I hope you enjoy it and I can’t wait to check it out myself.
Do you want your Sims to be bold, adventurous, or just completely outrageous? This might be just the challenge you’re looking for. Follow the stories for each generation, or recreate your own versions. If there’s a world, career, skill, collection, etc. that you’re missing, feel free to choose a different one or omit that generation goal altogether. You may cheat needs as you see fit. Basically, if it’s not fun you’re doing it wrong. Here are some suggested guidelines:
The challenge as it’s written includes the following DLC: Strangerville (GP), City Living (EP), Get Famous (EP), Cats & Dogs (EP), and Discover University (EP).Â
Start in Generation 1 by creating your young adult Sim of any gender with the traits paranoid, active, and ambitious and the Strangerville Mystery aspiration.
You may build a 2-bedroom home with any budget that would’ve been your Sim’s childhood home where they currently reside.
Cheat your Generation 1 Sim’s money to 35,000 Simoleons using the money cheat (money 35000) since you will have inherited your parents’ savings after their disappearance.
At no point are you required to reset your funds, but for an extra challenge, consider cheating your funds down to 5,000 after Generation 4. This Sim rejects monetarily-based value systems and would’ve donated their inheritance to charities.
Traits: Paranoid, Active, Ambitious Aspiraton: Strangerville Mystery Career: Military (Officer Branch) Goals: 1. Live in Strangerville. 2. Max the Fitness and Programming skills. 3. Reach the top of the Military career in the Officer branch 4. Complete the Strangerville Mystery aspiration. 5. Marry a conspiracy theorist. 6. Have at least two children. 7. Collect and display all of the military medals.
Traits: Foodie, Unflirty, Self-Assured Aspiration: City Native Career: Critic (either branch) Goals: 1. Live in a San Myshuno apartment. 2. Max the Writing and Handiness skills. 3. Enroll them in the afterschool Acting Club. 7. Donate money to a performing artist weekly (statue artists, buskers, etc.). 8. Complete the City Native aspiration.
Traits: Self-Absorbed, Erratic, Romantic Aspiration: Master Actor/Actress Career: Actor/Actress Goals: 1. Live in Del Sol Valley. 2. Marry a Sim of equal or greater fame status. 3. You’re a young adult just trying to figure out life and who you are. A mysterious relative passes away and leaves you a million simoleons. The world is now your oyster! What will you, and your descendants, choose to do with your newfound riches?
Getting Started
CAS: Create a YA Sim. This Sim can be any gender you choose. Make sure you give them the following traits: Loves the Outdoors, Gloomy, Loner, and the following aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast OR The Curator.
Money: Your Sim will start out with one million Simoleons! Use the cheat money 1000000 to set your family funds. None of the Sims in any generation will ever have a traditional job, so spend wisely!
Seasons: You can start in any season you’d like, but keep in mind that Generation One is based entirely around Outdoor Retreat.
Aspirations: In lieu of jobs, each generation in this challenge will complete TWO aspirations.
DLC: Both of my previous Mini Legacy Challenges have required minimal packs, this is not the case with this one. You will need Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Jungle Adventure, Get Together, and Island Living.
You never really got along with other Sims. You always preferred to be alone with nature. When a mysterious relative left you a large sum of money, you knew that you wanted to spend most of your life exploring your favorite childhood vacation spot, Granite Falls.
Traits: Loves the Outdoors, Gloomy, Loner Aspirations: Outdoor Enthusiast, The Curator Goals: 1. Max herbalism and handiness skills. 2. Complete both aspirations. 3. Spend most of your time in Granite Falls. 4. Marry the Hermit, get engaged in Granite Falls. 5. Host a gold medal weenie roast. 6. Have at least two children. 7. Complete the Insect collection.
The “Great Outdoors” isn’t really your thing. You spent your childhood traipsing through Granite Falls while your parent collected insects. You prefer pampering, indoor plumbing, and HVAC. You’d rather spend your wealth on yoga classes and massages.
Traits: Squeamish, Active, Self Absorbed (Requires Get Famous) Aspirations: Bodybuilder, Freelance Botanist Goals: 1. Max wellness, fitness skills. 2. Complete both aspirations. 3. Marry a spa employee. 4. Take daily yoga classes. 5. Have a sauna in your home. 6. Have only one child as an adult. 7. Grow your own food in your garden.
You’ve always been the curious type. You’re brilliant and spent your childhood enamored with the unexplored areas of Selvadorada. You always thought it was a waste for your parent to blow all of their money at the spa and never explore the world.
Traits: Genius, Art Lover, Clumsy Aspirations: Archaeology Scholar and Jungle Explorer Goals: 1. Max Selvadoradian Culture, Archaeology, and Logic skills. 2. Complete Aspirations. 3. Spend most of your time in Selvadorada. 4. Marry a local, get engaged in Selvadorada. 5. Have two children as an adult. 6. Complete Omiscan Artifacts and Omiscan Treasures collections.
Your parent loved the jungle. You inherited their desire for warmer weather, but you don’t understand all of their traveling back and forth. Why visit the jungle when you can move to an Island? Your idea of leisure and luxury is to spend your days soaking up the sun and your nights exploring the secrets of Sulani, while frequenting the island bars.
Traits: Child of the Ocean, Child of the Islands, Lazy Aspirations: Angling Ace, Beach Life Goals: 1. Max Fishing and Mixology skills. 2. Complete Aspirations. 3. Live in Sulani. 4. Become a mermaid. 5. Complete seashell and buried treasure collections. 6. Marry an Elemental (you’ll need to turn them into humans in order to have children with them) 7. Have at least one child.
Your parent spend their life laying around on the beach. That was nice and all, but they
never really did anything. They never made their name known. All of that money and free time and it didn’t amount to much. That’s just not your style, you want everyone to know your name and you’ll look stylish while doing it!
Traits: Insider, Outgoing, Self Assured Aspirations: Leader of the Pack, Party Animal Goals: 1. Max Charisma, DJ Mixing, and Dance skills. 2. Complete Aspirations. 3. Live in Windenberg. 4. Have weekly club gatherings. 5. Marry a club member at the Von Haunt Estate in Windenberg. 6. Go to all Get Together parties when called. 7. Children are optional.
Conclusion
I had a lot of fun with this one! It was really interesting to think outside of the box and create a challenge that’s more about managing the money you have and spending it wisely, while living a fulfilling life. I hope this challenge is a fresh change of pace for you and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Be sure to use #LeisureMiniLegacy on social media and the gallery, so I can follow along with your creations and stories. See y’all next year! (Sorry. Bad joke, I know, but I couldn’t resist.)
As promised, here’s our monthly Mini Legacy Challenge! This challenge is centered around every Sim’s desire to become a household name. There are various portions of this challenge that may require other packs (ex: dancing skill from Get Together, owning a business from Get to Work), but this challenge mainly requires Get Famous and Base Game, as well as some City Living. You can absolutely do this challenge without City Living, I’ve ever created an alternate first generation. Feel free to alter this challenge as needed to fit the packs that you own. As always, I hope you enjoy playing through this challenge as much as I enjoyed creating it. I can’t wait to see your pictures and hear your stories on social media. Make sure to use #FameMiniLegacy.
Getting Started
Create a Young Adult Sim in CAS: This will be your first generation. See below for the traits and aspiration you’ll use.
Choose an Apartment: This challenge starts in San Myshuno. Choose any apartment you want and you can use money cheats to furnish your apartment, but no more cheats after that. If you don’t have City Living, do the alternate first generation and start in any world you’d like.
Cheats, Mods, and CC that don’t give you an advantage are allowed. This one requires common sense!

Your parent was an incredible author and you always admired them for following their dreams, but they were always so serious. They worked so hard to avoid the fame that they deserved and never just kicked back and enjoyed the Simoleons that came pouring in. You know how to enjoy life and if fame follows, so be it. Will your laid back attitude cause you to get in your own way or will your laissez faire approach breed happiness?

You knew you wanted to be the most famous movie star in all of Del Sol Valley. It was going to take hard work and dedication and you were ready for that.

A little while ago, I announced Mini Legacy Challenges and I didn’t want to keep you waiting too long, so here’s our October Challenge: Holiday Mini Legacy! Each generation is based on a different holiday.
Getting Started
Create a Young Adult sim in CAS. This will be your first generation. See below for the traits and aspiration you’ll use.
Build your Sim a house. You can use money cheats to build your first house, but no more money cheats after that.
You can decorate the house however you like, but it might be fun to decorate each generation’s house around their specific holiday.
Start in Fall/Autumn. You may want to set your seasons to 28 days. This isn’t required, but each generation will need to celebrate their holiday at some point in time in their life.
Seasons is required. You can’t do this challenge without it. City Living, Get to Work, and Dine Out all make appearances throughout this challenge, but the challenge can easily be adjusted if you don’t have those packs.

Donate to Charity at least three times
Hopeless Romantic. That’s you. You just love love. You love writing about love, reading about love, watching TV about love. But most of all, you love being in love and you have been since you were in high school. You’re hopelessly, deeply, head over heels in love with your partner and you don’t care if the whole world knows. It seeps through into every aspect of your life, especially into your romance novels as a professional writer.
Traits: Romantic, Creative, Jealous Aspiration: Soulmate Career: Writer (either branch) Goals: 1. Complete Aspiration 2. Reach Top of Career 3. Max Writing and Charisma Skills 4. Celebrate Love Day (at any point in your lifetime) 5. Marry High School Sweetheart 6. Go on Weekly Dates 7. Have at least two children 8. Write only Romance Novels (Must be in Flirty Mood)
Your parents were so in love. They always used to bring each other the most beautiful flowers and you loved taking care of them and making sure they had enough water. You could spend hours alone with the flowers. Every year, you would wait for Spring to roll in, as the colder months always made you Gloomy. You love the warm weather, the chirping birds, and, of course, the beautiful flowers.

Conclusion
I hope you guys enjoy this Mini Legacy as much as I enjoyed making it! Keep your eyes peeled for our November Mini Legacy next month. In the meantime, comment below and let me know how your Holiday Mini Legacy is going. I’d love to see your pictures on social media, so feel free to tag me in them and use #HolidayMiniLegacy. Happy Simming!
Happy Friday, ya’ll! Let’s talk about something brand new that I’m going to be doing. As many of you know, I get super bored after a few generations of a legacy challenge. After talking with other streamers and Simmers, I’ve learned that I’m not alone in this. This is particularly difficult for streamers, because of the guilt associated with abandoning challenges that your viewers are enjoying. I came up with this idea with streamers in mind, but these challenges are perfect for anyone who gets bored quickly with ten generation challenges.
I thought to myself, “what’s the solution to this? How can we complete challenges without losing interest?” and the idea of Mini Legacy Challenges was born.
Mini Legacy Challenges are a series of challenges I’ll be releasing monthly, with the first one coming later today. Instead of 10 generations, Mini Legacy Challenges will only consist of 5 generations. They’ll also be more targeted to a specific theme to let you fully experience certain aspects of the game.
At the risk of rambling, I’ll wrap things up here. I hope you’re just as excited for the Mini Legacy Challenges as I am. Stay tuned for the Holiday Mini Legacy Challenge later today. I love you all from the bottom of my heart and to the moon and back!
